The first camping event of the year is underway at High Bridge Trail State Park.  A 31 mile rail-to-track conversion featuring the longest recreational bridge in the state.  The scouts were also able to do some exploring of the Appomattox Court House National Park featuring the McLean House where Lee surrendered to Grant to end the Civil War.

Troop 316 is very proud to send it's newest Eagle Scout on to his next journey.  And had a great time pulling together as a troop honoring the year's accomplishments.  Well done!

The wind and rain didn't stop Troop 316 from a 5 mile hike at Hanging Rock State Park. We did a little trail cookout, land navigation, climbed 1,015 ft in elevation and clocked in about 20k steps. So much fun and a bittersweet last camp out for the troop’s most recent Eagle Scout.
